Hi Tim – I am curious if you know anything about the following green bonds available from Vancouver RE Royalties (a google search led me to a globe and mail article) Thanks!

Hi Tim, Thanks for being such a great source of sustainable investment opportunities. I just stumbled upon this and wonder if you have any insights: I would really like to understand the risk profile of this operation, whether it is “legitimate,” and to hear from folks who have invested with them.

Great follow up on the rational reminder.

Do you think BMO will offer ETF’s that will change your model portfolios? I currently copy Wealthsimples SRI/ESG choices.

Thank you
Keep up the good work ;)

Hi, I’m really surprised at the stock in the supposed ESG compliant iShares ESG MSCI EAFE ETF . NestlĂ© is the first stock! Aren’t they pretty bad boys?

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your excellent blog! Have you looked at Desjardins’ new (as of Sept 2018) Low CO2 ETFs? I’d be interested in your thoughts on them and whether in their early days there is any reason for caution (e.g. low trading volumes; low assets under management; relatively low number of holdings).

Hi Tim,

Have you looked at all into RBF910 RBC Vision Fossil Fuel Free Global Equity Fund? It has no Canadian exposure but seems to be a great fund for people interested in going fossil fuel free. The “F” series funds can be held at Questrade and likely other online brokerages (more than I can say for CCM5013 IA Clarington Global Equity SRI fund which was very disappointing) and the MER comes in below 1%. Please let me & the rest of us know your thoughts. Thank you so much!

Hi Grace,

I’ve looked at it. It’s a great option for the ‘doing more good’ part of your portfolio and one of the greenest mutual funds in Canada, but shouldn’t be your core equity holding (green companies tend to be riskier than average). Consider owning it as part of a broader mix. I’m also concerned about the high MER of 2.5%. So expensive! Hope this helps! Tim

Hi Tim, it was great talking with you today and I look forward to hearing your opinion of The Green Marshall Plan described in a Facebook group by the same name. Can you offer contact info for Green Pac?

Hi Tim

I really like the idea of conscience based investing and I have recently purchased the Jantzi index and the ishares US and global indexed funds. I was wondering if you are concerned about the fluxuation in the Canadian dollar with regard to the US funds as the Cdn. dollar will probably rise as energy prices rise.
